Nice tansutansu
Japanese chest, generally speaking piece of furniture for a storage purpose crafted during early MeijiMeiji
Period from 1868 to 1912 era. Good general condition. The chipped off lacquer (on the wood and the hardware) highlight the antique character of this tansutansu
Japanese chest, generally speaking piece of furniture for a storage purpose. Sign of a minor old restoration (nails).
It is a 2 levels chest, but you can also set the 2 pieces apart to make 2 low boards of same height.
The pivoting doors are fairly rare for an ishôishô
Kimono chest, generally speaking clothing chest dansudansu
Japanese chest, generally speaking piece of furniture for a storage purpose, and are concealing the more standard drawers. So are the large cross shape iron fittongs, directly inherited from EdoEdo
Period from 1603 to 1868 period and the shogunate, and evoking an origin from Kantô region (the current Tôkyô area).
No key but doors are equipped with latches to keep them closed.
To be noticed: The lacquer is chipped off in the center of the top. It can easily be concealed with an obiobi
Kimono sash.
