Nice tansutansu
Japanese chest, generally speaking piece of furniture for a storage purpose crafted during MeijiMeiji
Period from 1868 to 1912 era. Good condition. Some signs of earlier restoration (nails).
It is a 2 levels chest, but you can also set the 2 pieces apart to make 2 low boards of same height.
The iron fittings are well representative of YonezawaYonezawa
City: Yonezawa, prefecture: Yamagata, region: Tôhoku: round black brass with a silver ring, butterfly design, and cherry flower design for the lock button. Heavy handles (foundry) with the pine and the mokkô (Japanese melon) symbol.
Nice color nuance depending in which direction the wood was cut.
Signed by the craftsman on the rear side (top left of each part), giving the tansutansu
Japanese chest, generally speaking piece of furniture for a storage purpose a nice premium value.
Comes with 1 key.
To be noticed: The top part shows a slight deformation, probably due to a load placed on the tansutansu
Japanese chest, generally speaking piece of furniture for a storage purpose for a long time, and slightly separated board (top, side).
