Nice tansutansu
Japanese chest, generally speaking piece of furniture for a storage purpose crafted during MeijiMeiji
Period from 1868 to 1912 era. Very good condition. No signs of an earlier restoration.

It is a 2 levels chest, but you can also set the 2 pieces apart to make 2 low boards of same height.

The iron fittings (thick and coated with traditional black lacquer urushiurushi
Traditional Japanese lacquer, also called "Japan" in English), their simple shape and the many nails higlight the SadoSado

The black lacquered iron fittings stand out on the honey color wood.

No key. The door has a latch to keep it closed.

To be noticed: scratches, slightly chipped lacquer in some areas.
