Hand crafted cha dansudansu
Japanese chest, generally speaking piece of furniture for a storage purpose (tea cabinet).
In Japan, this type of furniture was used to keep the tea ceremony equipment (tea, cups, pots, etc.) handy in the washitsuwashitsu
Japanese traditional tatami room in the Japanese home (traditional Japanese room). The sliding doors are usually equipped with a glass to keep the cups out of dust, and the glass is transparent so that you can display the cups. In Europe though, our customers sometimes use the chest for other purposes and you may want to add a sheet of washi (Japanese paper) inside the glass to hide the contents.
The glossy black & red finish (mirror effect), is probably the best representation of Japanese lacquer.
The peony design hardware has a grey glossy / patina finish, standing out on the black & red wood, bringing at the same time refinment and originality.
Drawers can be locked (one key).
